Filming begins in Stonington

Why Stonington? A simple question, but one with many answers.

Since early June, filmmaker Sam Greenfield and videographer Marcus Gram have been asking Stonington residents, business owners and visitors why, exactly, do they find our Town such a great place?

Some of the answers might surprise you, but no spoiler alerts here. The documentary, financed by the EDC, is designed to produce a short and memorable portrait of Stonington as a great place to live, work and play. Filming will continue through the fall and into the winter so as to capture our Town's four-season vitality.

Stonington Town officials are intent upon what is known as placemaking. “As both an overarching idea and a hands-on approach for improving a neighborhood, city, or region, placemaking inspires people to collectively reimagine and reinvent public spaces as the heart of every community.”
