Culture Connects

UPDATE! The Economic Development Commission  announces that the special meetings to establish Cultural Districts in Stonington will now meet at a NEW TIME,  9 AM on the third Tuesday. The first morning meeting will be held October 18 at the Town Hall.  Attendance is encouraged as we finalize the map boundaries of two districts:  one in the Borough including Water Street and the Velvet Mill,  and the other is the Stoningington side of Mystic, sections of Routes 27 and 1. Let us know what you think is special about these areas in Stonington.  Please work with us!

Culture connects us to each other, to our community, to the region and to the world.  Culture, history and art are threads woven into the fabric of our lives.

Whether you are an artist, a creative business, a historical venue, planning a cultural event or a resident, your creative ideas and energy are important!

Come find out more about the work being done to create a Cultural District(s) in the Town of Stonington!

Join the "Fall Kickoff" meeting, September 20, 6 pm, Human Services, 166 S. Broad St., Pawcatuck with our 40-strong volunteer committee of local creatives.  The Economic Development Commission (EDC) sponsors this effort along with the SE Cultural Coalition.  First Selectman Danielle Chesebrough and Executive Director of the SE Cultural Coalition Wendy Bury will be participating in this special meeting of the EDC.
