Cultural Districts approved

Dear friends,

Warm Spring greetings!

Earlier this month, the Stonington Cultural District Commission received word from the Department of Economic and Community Development [DECD] that we were approved as the 7th officially designated Cultural District in the State of Connecticut and the very first to establish two separate districts within the same town. We are cordially inviting you to join us in celebrating this community moment! As you know, Stonington's rich reservoir of cultural assets - historic, natural, artistic, musical, literary, and scenic - make this corner of Connecticut a virtually unparalleled place to visit, to linger and learn as well as to love and in which to live. We're unabashedly proud of promoting Stonington as well as acknowledging your vitally important part in making the districts recognized and valued. Thank you and please join us!

May 10th, 2:30 pm
La Grua Center

State and local officials will ceremonially welcome Stonington Village and Mystic Bridge to its roster of Cultural Districts.

The event will last roughly 30 minutes; the positive economic and community impact of our cultural districts will be long-lasting!  Our Commission members and I are excited to celebrate with you!

Sincerely,

P. Geise
